It's in the Detail

"It's more interesting to have just a picture of a small detail - then you can dream all the rest around it. Because when you see the whole thing, what is there to imagine?"  ~Dries Van Noten

The Usual Outfit-photo-taking Scenario

I'm pretty sure some moms out there can relate to this. (:

Uhm no, photographer is not using an analogue camera, he is holding the baby. :p

Photographer puts baby (a toddler actually) down

Inquisitive toddler asks, "Mommy, what are you doing?"

At last, PEACE & ORDER. (:

And the adorable little imp wails, Mommy! Enough! :p

Thirtysomething Mom Sans Make-up

Let's call today's look  The Thirtysomething Mom Sans Make-up because somehow, that sounds waaaaay cooler than Slowing Metabolism and Sleep Deprivation...

Doncha agree? (:
AAAAAhhh the latter's just plain evil. :p

Monochroma-geek

Hi, how are you? My name is Daniel Johnston Toni Nimbus. I'm here for a bottle of Mountain Dew. I love Mountain Dew.

♫ We drink Mountain Dew, we drink Mountain Dew. We have nothing better to do but drink Mountain Dew.

 (:

Let's call this getup Nimbus

With colors (or lack thereof) so grey you'd think of an adolescent heavy with existential angst, a schoolgirl nursing her very first broken heart, or a young mom on a bad-hair day.

MAC Russian Red
or Chanel Fatale Rouge could have saved the day, rescue it from total bleakness and gloom but that would deviate from the look tried desperately, and I mean des-p'rate-ly, hard to achieve.

Or perhaps an orange Marc Jacobs tote (a knock-off of course, I can't afford the real thing) could have done the trick but that would be like adding cream and milk to a black coffee.

Of course this schizophrenicish rambling barely makes sense if at all, but that was exactly the tone I so desperately, and I mean des-p'rate-ly, intended. :)

 The End.

Just Add Tomatoes

I have yet to do justice to this over-sized drop waist dress to save it from being stashed into the impulse-online-purchases drawer. It looks rather drab and grey (well, it is a coal-colored dress, after all ). I have attempted to mess with its  form but I un-stitched it afterwards because I thought it looked worse. Maybe when I gather enough inspirations online, I could give it the love it needs. Ahaha. :D

Anyhoo, I wore it to the mall with a wrong choice of a bag - wrong because there was no... uhmm... ooomph. Good thing I saw a sumptuous tote! I immediately bought it and used it then and there!

And so I learned a lesson that day --- looking for some ooomph? Please see title.

Note: Not too much tomatoes though, lest you wanna have arms as huge as mine. Har~  ^_^

FASHION LOVE POST: Like Flowers Need Sunshine

Sunshine. Flowers. - Don't these equate Happiness? Well I was happily pulling on the floral on floral trend here and it made me feel oh-so-feminine and sunshiney happy ^_^.  I know this ensemble would have been better if  I punctuated it with a pair of espadrille wedges but I decided against it knowing full well that it would be silly because I have my finest accessory with me - my healthy, heavy  (thank God) baby.

FASHION LOVE POST: It's a Lovely Thing, the Animal Instinct

Yes, like most fashion posts I see everywhere,  the title I used is a song. I actually thought of two songs fit for this post :

a.) the title - Animal Instinct by The Cranberries (who just recently graced Manila and I'm so bitter about it because mommy-duties made me miss it)

b.) Big Yellow Taxi by The Counting Crows

a because... duh... need I mention it? Teehee~ and b because that's the song humming in my head while I was attempting to look decent  doing this     pose.

They paved paradise and put up a parking lot, hummed my head as I was looking at the, the, the... make a wild guess... ^_~

And ( I love starting a  sentence with this word, it's kind of rebellious, like a sweet non-conformist bitch *oooops  Haha.)... anyway... to continue ---

And if there's a song about DIY, I need that song for the last part of this poor-attempt of a

fashion post , well, not for this high bun   ☟ although I did it myself, apparently(emphasis on that word)...
HIGH BUN. Hello.

...but (here, I have to start with the word but, not because I'm being rebellious but... but... ) for the

necklaces I wore here
Say HELLO to my 1-year old little imp too. ^_^

Yesireebobandwhoopdeedo!, I made those necklaces myself and am quite proud of it. I shall take more photos of it and bore you with its story soon.

And (didn't I tell you I love this word?) I salvaged this  shirt  ☟ too.

I used a fabric from my old jammies and painstakingly sewed them on the sleeves. The leopard-print detachable peter pan collar (so mouthful a name for a tiny accessory) I scored online shall vamp this blah-blah brown shirt up some more.

And (see? I told you I love it) quoting Miranda Priestly, "That's all".

And oh... (there's that word again, aren't you just annoyed? Heehee~ ) here's a P.S.
What is your favorite word?

“And. It is so hopeful".
~Margaret Atwood
